The LAX Automated People Mover (APM) is a 2.25-mile elevated train system at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that will connect passengers from the Central Terminal Area to public transportation, new pick-up/drop-off locations and a new Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility. LAX Integrated Express Solutions (LINXS) was the developer selected by Los Angeles World Airports to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the automated train system. Kimberlina Whettam & Associates is assisting LINXS Constructors, the team designing and constructing the project, with processing and obtaining Los Angeles City approvals and permits, estimated at a total of 400 permits. The APM is part of a $5.5-billion-dollar investment to modernize LAX. When the train opens to passenger service in 2023, the system will transform the LAX landscape and airport experience.
